2023 Edition

Program

Shaping Urban Commons
1st April 2023
St.Louis, Missouri, USA

The ECC Italy team will be travelling to St. Louis (Missouri, USA) to attend and co-organise a session at the ACSA 111th Annual Meeting conference, taking place between Thursday 30 March and Friday 1 April, 2023.

As an international association of architecture schools, ACSA convenes educators, practitioners, and students to share research and explore architecture, design, and related disciplines throughout time. For 2023, the conference will revolve around the theme ‘In Commons’: a concept that explores the tensions and ambivalence between a past that has fuelled planetary urbanisation and exacerbated climate change, and a future concentrated on building more sustainable, resilient, and equitable communities.

As part of this edition, the ECC Italy team is organising a collaborative workshop together with Università Iuav di Venezia and Washington University in St. Louis under the scope of ECC’s Shaping the City initiative, the forum for sustainable cities and communities

Join ECC Italy for a workshop on SHAPING URBAN COMMONS

The workshop will explore today’s socio-spatial configurations towards commoning through the application of an interactive game. Taking St Louis as frame of reference, the session will encourage attendees to explore and reveal current and future urban commoning that can shape the city of St Louis. As the game board will populate our discoveries, we will initiate a first dialogue and debate to develop patterns and opportunities of commoning for St Louis.

Will you be in St. Louis too? Contact us, we look forward to meeting you there! We will also happily address any questions you might have regarding the workshop.
